Fachhochschule Gelsenkirchen on 1 Founded August 1992. Fachhochschule Gelsenkirchen consists of the headquarters in Gelsenkirchen as well as the locations in Bocholt , Recklinghausen and a study in Ahaus .

The origins, the Fachhochschule Gelsenkirchen in the National Engineering School of Mechanical Engineering Gelsenkirchen-Buer, which at first October was founded in 1962. Through the establishment of technical colleges in Germany, in 1971, was the engineering school at the first August 1971 the newly founded University of Applied Sciences Bochum affiliated. The trial run started in winter semester 2009/2010 cooperative with two courses of study.
