God is doing some awesome things at Arkansas Baptist College, and I hope that, in some way, you will take part in this exciting and challenging journey. Our historic college was founded in 1884, and through the years it has continued to be a beacon of light for those seeking higher education. Historically Black Baptist higher education institution west of the Mississippi, ABC offers certificate programs, plus two and four year degrees.

Where most institutions reach out to the most gifted students, ABC has a rich tradition of extending its hands to students who are reaching out to a college to be elevated academically and spiritually. The mission of Arkansas Baptist College aligns with my personal life’s work: to make a difference in the lives of those who need it the most. I welcome this awesome venue as an opportunity for me to lead by serving our students and our community, because servant leadership is all about the students and the people we serve.

My goal is to drastically improve student achievement by recruiting, training and supporting academic leadership that cultivates the next generation of leaders. The main objective is that each program provides the highest quality education possible for our students. We have talented and principled people, a new commitment to academic excellence, and a future ripe with opportunity.

Mission
J.C. Oliver Library is dedicated to providing the highest standards in service and resources that support the college mission for excellence in learning, scholarship and service. We are committed to designing an environment that’s reader-centered, book-centered and learning-centered with a distinct commitment to preparing students for leadership and service to our nation.

Vision

To see our community, state, and nation positively influenced through the integration of academic scholarship and Christian principle to address issues having a detrimental effect on society.

Library
The J. C. Oliver Library, named for the late Dr. James Columbus Oliver, is the center for information, literacy and research activities on campus. It allows us to connect all that we value in traditional library services with the possibilities of new forms of knowledge acquisition and creation.
