EFL-U will begin offering an undergraduate programme in English. This new course offers any student who has passed his Intermediate (10 plus 2) examination an opportunity to specialize in English studies for 3 years working towards a B.A (Hons) degree.
Each academic year will consist of two semesters, and in each semester you will be registering for four courses. In all, during your three years with us, you will be taking 24 courses. What makes our programme different is that in addition to the courses you’ll be doing in the areas of English literature, English Language, and English Language Teaching, you will also be learning a foreign language. You have a wide range to choose from: Arabic, French, German, Japanese, Russian and Spanish. You’ll specialize in one of these languages for four semesters.
What if you want to do an M.A?
If you do well in the three years you are with us and pass out with an aggregate of 55% or more, then you have the option of continuing your studies with us for another two years and pass out with an M.A in English. If you don’t meet this minimum requirement, don’t worry. All you’ll have to do is write the entrance test for admission to the M.A programme, and if you qualify, you’ll be back with us.
Admission
Your admission to our B.A (Hons) programme is going to depend on how well you do on our entrance test. This test is usually held in the month of June in various centres across the country. Keep checking this website frequently in May, and we’ll keep you posted as to when and where the test will be held.
