Today as I was going through the pile of letters, one letter caught my eye. That was for Coachman All, the letter he had been waiting for, Miriam’s letter. I was shocked. At the same moment my heart was filled with compassion, I regretted every bit of my behaviour. How rude I had been to a father!
I had rebuked him each time he came to the post office asking for his letter. I never could see the pain and helplessness in his eyes. Only when my own daughter fell sick, I panicked, that is when the realisation came in that Ali was also a father, an old helpless father, waiting desperately for his daughter’s letter.
