The EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht is a private , nationally recognized university. In the commercial register is registered as EBS European Business School. Shareholder of EBS European Business School is the Foundation for Promotion of the European Business School in the Donors’ Association for German Science.
The EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht was founded in 1971 by Klaus Evard than college for business in Offenbach am Main, incorporated under the name European Business School. In 1980 she moved into the castle Reichartshausen in Oestrich-Winkel in the Rheingau. In 1989 she was recognized as a research university and was awarded the 1993 promotions – and in 1998 the habilitation law . 2005 opened a second location in the EBS Rheingau Palais in Wiesbaden-Schierstein , which was 2008 for the corporate headquarters of the EBS European Business School. On 16 June 2010, the Law School next to the EBS EBS Business School was the second faculty and thus established the status of “university foundation” obtained. On 1 September 2011, Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht acquired university status. The headquarters of the EBS Law School in Wiesbaden and also the seat according to § 4a GmbHG moved from Wiesbaden-Schierstein in the Gustav-Stresemann-Ring 3 in Wiesbaden.
