École Nationale Supérieure d’Ingénieurs de Caen is a public education and research recognized nationally and internationally.
The great wealth of the institution, which is also its strength, is the very strong interaction between the activities of training , the R & D e t industrial collaborations. The place in the landscape ENSICAEN regional and national reputation gained by the establishment over the years is confirmed annually by the growing number of students and staff who join École Nationale Supérieure d’Ingénieurs de Caen and its teams.
The school is a distant descendant of an Institute of Applied Sciences (ISA) was founded in 1911/1912 in the University of Caen. The division of the ISA gives rise to the Technical Institute of Normandy (ITN) in 1914 and the Institute of Chemistry of Caen (ICC) in 1922.
In 1960, the ITN is transformed into an institute called the Technical Institute of the University of Caen (ITUC), which became the École Nationale Supérieure d’Ingénieurs de Caen in 1964. The transformation of the ICC in 1967 and involved the Ecole Nationale Superieure de Chimie de Caen (ENSCC) is created.
