Florida College offers a rigorous higher education, taught through the lens of a biblical worldview. If you are looking for an education and a social community where Christ’s influence is at the core, you have come to the right place.

Florida College
is the second-oldest higher education institution in Tampa. It was founded in 1946 as a place where young men and women could pursue a solid college education within the framework of a Biblical worldview, in an environment that promotes the health of students holistically—physically, socially, mentally, and spiritually. Today FC remains committed to that same vision, and continues to expand its academic offerings while holding fast to the timeless principles of the Bible.

Florida College was conceived in 1942, its charter drafted in 1944, and its first students enrolled in 1946. From its beginning the College has remained independent of church affiliation and has operated without financial support either from churches or from the government. The College charter has stipulated from the beginning that each member of the Board of Directors be a Christian, active and in good standing in a local church of Christ.

Mission
Florida College, as a private, independent liberal arts college, provides a comprehensive undergraduate experience designed to develop students spiritually, mentally, physically, and socially; to integrate into the students’ lives the Bible as the revealed will of God; and to prepare students for lives of service to their Creator and to humanity.

Library
The William F. Chatlos Library is stocked with over 130,000 titles, nearly 400 periodical titles, a computer lab, and several quiet workrooms. In 1998 Florida College purchased the entire library of Phillips University, adding an entire wing to our collection.
