In all walks of life, whatever the profession or calling may be, we have irrritants around (unawares we become one too). But what really bothers us in the irritant that irritates us. We come home from office resentful. And unable to control our irritation now and then, we cast our resentment on our family. Then we feel miserable. When we get to bed we cannot sleep as we plan ways to do away with the cause of irritation. We get up in the morning, we go about our work, sit at our desk and bury our resentment temporarily.
Then there comes a time when we go to bed and hit the pillow again. We get utterly alone with our thoughts. And we take inventory of ourselves, our assets and liabilities. Then we ask ourselves what we forgot to do during the day that has gone forever.
All this happens to me and so I feel it might be the case with everybody. When I take stock of the day I suddenly remember many things I forgot during the course of the day – that I forgot to smile, I forgot to compliment someone for a deed well done, for a word well spoken, forgot that I can be happy that I can forget my resentment, violence, negative feelings that take me away from myself and make me the small person I actually am mot. I realize that I even forgot that I am born to succeed in life, that I have priceless assets within me that God blessed me with, that I have dignity because I am make in God’s image, forgot to be sincere, the need to understand the needs of others, to be compassionate and self-confident, failed to accept myself for what I am and not try to be someone else.
So after recollecting what you forgot today, make a decision what you should not forget the following day, relax your mind and have a sound sleep. When you get up next morning recollect the decision you made the previous night, adhere to that and have peace of mind. Make this your habit and reach your goals sooner.
