Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, an offshoot of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana was first established at Hissar in 1962 where the College of Veterinary Science already existed since 1948.

Under Graduate Courses:
- B.V.Sc. & A.H. (5-year) /B.F.Sc. (4-year) programmes
1. The candidate should have a minimum education of 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry,Biology and English from a recognized Board/University with atleast 50% marks in aggregate (except optional subject) for general category and 40% marks in aggregate (except optional subject) for all other reserved categories.
2. The candidate should have completed the age of 17 years before admission to the B.V.Sc. & A.H. and B.F.Sc. programmes.
- B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) (4-year) programme
1. The candidate should have a minimum education of 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry,Mathematics and English from a recognized Board/University with atleast 50% marks in aggregate (except optional subject) for general category and 40% marks in aggregate (except optional subject) for all other reserved categories.
2. The candidate should have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December 2009 for admission to the B. Tech. (Dairy Technology) programme.
