Harris-Stowe State University will hold its Teacher Interview Day on Tuesday, March 8, 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., and the annual Career Fair will be held Tuesday, March 15, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Both events will be held in the Emerson Performance Center’s Board of Regents Gymnasium and require participants to dress professionally and bring resumes.
For the Teacher Interview Day, certified teachers and education students graduating this semester may participate in 20-minute interview sessions with the school districts in which they are interested. In all, 28 school districts/schools will participate, such as Columbia, Hazelwood, Ladue, St. Louis Public and Webster Groves. Walk-ins may sign up for any district with available openings, but only certified teachers and education students graduating this semester are eligible.
Employers at the annual Career Fair will be seeking to fill full-time, part-time, internship and co-op positions. Admission is free, and all job seekers are welcome. Participating companies include the FDIC, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Craft Foods, Regions Bank, Sherwin-Williams, Aerotek, the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency and Social Security to name a few. Employers may still register to participate, and the cost for employers is just $120.
Mission
Harris-Stowe State University’s primary mission, as set forth in Senate Bill 153, is to address the higher education needs of the metropolitan St. Louis region.
