Heritage Christian University

History:
In 1971 the then International Bible College was organized in Florence, AL. From its beginning, the university has offered a four-year program of study emphasizing the biblical text and evangelism. In 2001 the school changed its name to Heritage Christian University. Today the mission of Heritage Christian University remains the same as it did in the beginning: to TRAIN, EDUCATE, and ENCOURAGE effective communicators of the Gospel.

Introduction:
The university courses  are in Bible and doctrine provide a foundation for life-long spiritual growth. They demand rigorous study and careful thought, and they are always taught with practical ministry in mind. Each teacher is an active, faithful, mission-minded Christian. You will be challenged by a rigorous academic program, but in addition, you will be encouraged and required to apply what you learn in real-world settings because Real-World Ministry is the heart of our academic program. That is the distinctive focus of Heritage Christian University. The university courses in professional studies are more than just classes. Field trips and hands-on assignments combine with weekly Christian service and biannual evangelistic campaigns to give each student real-world experience in ministry. Such learning opportunities are under the direction of faculty members who have exemplary records in evangelism. These real-world experiences for students build confidence, sharpen skills, and make each class more purposeful and real. Real-World Ministry-that’s who we are.
Mission Statement:
Heritage Christian University was organized in 1971 to increase the number of capable men and women with world vision and to prepare them for a life of Christian service. From its beginning, the university offered a four-year program of sutdy emphasizing the biblical text and evangelism. In 2000 it added a graduate program and changed to its present name from International Bible College.
