The Hochschule der Medien is a state university (carrier: State of Baden-Wuerttemberg) and forms specialists from around the media. Since 1 September 2001, it combines the know-how of the former University of print and media (HDM) – a traditional training facility for print and media technology – and the School of Library and Information Science (HBI).

Hochschule der Medien covers all sections of the media – from print to Internet, from design to business, from library science to advertising, content for media to packaging technology, from computer science to information science to publishing and electronic media.

Library
Hochschule der Medien Library offers two locations about 90 000 media units and about 400 journals.
