Hochschule Ruhr West

The Hochschule Ruhr West (HRW) is a college with an engineering orientation, when established by the State Government NRW in the winter semester of 2009 was. After inclusion of the full university life in 2013 to 2,500 students, spread over branches in Mülheim an der Ruhr and Bottrop , undertake a study at the university.

The Hochschule Ruhr West state government on 28 May 2008 a competition for the creation of three new colleges awarded, including two facilities in the Ruhr area should be located. The cities of Mulheim and Bottrop competed together, supported by many companies in the region to the scientific and technically oriented college foundation. On 28 November 2008 was awarded the bid for the Western Ruhr University to award the country’s Cabinet. With the start of the winter semester of 2009,  Hochschule Ruhr West has been in operation, 80 students were enrolled in two subjects. Since the winter semester of 2010 to prospective students for the following courses apply to the HRW: In Mülheim complete an der Ruhr, the students enrolled in the courses of study mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and business administration (discontinued); in Bottrop, industrial engineering, energy systems and applied computer science.

Library
Hochschule Ruhr West university library understands the active mediation of information literacy as a particularly important task. The staff of the library are participating with their own modules to the basic courses or degree programs offer more control in the study regulations for their own events on issues of information gathering and evaluation of.
