IGNOU Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics (Ph.D)

The doctoral studies programme in Mathematics aims at enhancing and deepening the understanding of the students and equipping them to do quality research in the area of study. It is offered in ENGLISH medium.

Eligibility
A Master’s degree in mathematics and related areas with minimum 55 percent marks (50 per cent marks for SC/ST/PH candidates) or an equivalent grade from a recognized university or an institution of higher learning. Candidates of this category will have to undertake course work before registration in the Ph.D. programme.

A candidate with an M.Phil. Degree in the relevant discipline, with minimum 55 percent marks (50 percent marks for SC/ST/PH candidates) or an equivalent grade from a recognized university or an institution of higher learning need not undertake the course work.
