Islamic University of Science & Technology
The Islamic University of Science and Technology was promulgated by an Act of the Jammu and Kashmir State Legislative Assembly in November 2005. The Chancellor of the university is the Chief Minister, ex officio, of the State, and its Board is the Board of Directors of the J&K Muslim Wakf Board. The Executive Council, chaired by the Vice Chancellor, is the executive authority of the university.

The university seeks to build and sustain an environment that serves as a garden for dialogue amongst all factions of society locally, regionally and globally; to nurture a campus that is academically interdisciplinary and socially responsible. And to strive to create an institution of excellence that seeks knowledge in the pursuit of wisdom, but always with a focus on providing job opportunities for its students.
