Karel de Grote-Hogeschool is a Catholic university with more than 9000 students and 1000 employees. It is the largest college in Antwerp, the second largest university in Flanders, and even the fifth largest institution of higher education in Flanders.

Karel de Grote-Hogeschooll is a role at European and international level. Hence, this internationally known name (Carolus Magnus, Charlemagne). Charlemagne also played a significant role in the foundation of the school system in Europe. During his administration knew the medieval culture flourished, the so-called Carolingian Renaissance. His court was a driving influence on the renewal of law, art, science and commerce. He was also a famous Christian figure.

Karel de Grote-Hogeschool

On December 20, 1994, the association set up to organize the college. Karel de Grote-Hogeschool was officially launched on September 1, 1995. On September 18, 1995 was inaugurated the first academic year.
