The Monadnock Region encompasses Keene and Cheshire County. It has been called the Currier and Ives corner of New Hampshire. Geographically situated in the heart of New England, residents and visitors have easy access to and from several popular metropolitan areas. In a few hours or less you can be in Boston, Hartford-Springfield, Montreal, Portland, or New York.

Keene is the regional center for commerce, employment and entertainment. Our business community represents the full spectrum of enterprises from Mom and Pop companies to world-wide leaders in their fields. The Greater Keene Chamber of Commerce is proud to represent this diversity.

Although Keene is tucked away in the quiet corner of New Hampshire, we still offer residents and visitors a wide range of cultural and educational opportunities. The Monadnock Region is home to two respected liberal arts colleges and a nationally-recognized graduate school. It is also home to an international music school, an artist colony and numerous individual writers and artisans. Music and theater is presented in many forms and venues, often showcasing Grammy award winning performers and national touring companies.
