Kuyper College

Kuyper College is a ministry-focused Christian leadership college that educates and trains Christian leaders for ministry and service. Through the integration of a high-quality academic curriculum and a Reformed worldview, we provide students who desire a well-rounded biblical and academic college experience with the opportunity to see, understand, and live all of life through the lens of Scripture. This is instrumental in guiding our students through the process of discovering God’s glory, communicating this truth to others, and honoring the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Founded as a Bible institute in 1939, and accredited by various regional and national agencies, Kuyper College offers bachelor and associate degrees in a wide variety of academic majors. These ministry and professional majors together form one of seven foundational elements that make Kuyper a very unique college. At Kuyper, we call the sum of these elements TheKee or The Kuyper Education Experience.

Kuyper College was founded in 1939 as Reformed Bible Institute (RBI). RBI had a very clear focus–appropriately defined in scope–with a three year curriculum that offered a practical, focused and expedient track into foreign and domestic missions.

In 1970, after an almost five year redesign of curriculum and programs, the Department of Education of the State of Michigan gave the School the right to confer a four-year Bachelor degree. As a result, RBI changed its name to RBC–Reformed Bible College.

Kuyper College has a total enrollment of nearly 300 students and offers a wide variety of degree programs and 16 study abroad opportunities. Yet, today its mission is the same as it was in 1939. The College seeks to place ministry-focused people in ministry and professional areas of leadership around the world to meet the spiritual and social challenges that exist today. This is the essence of our purpose-the essence of our identity to bring God’s grace into today’s culture.

Mission
The mission of Kuyper College is “to equip students with a biblical, Reformed worldview to serve effectively Christ’s church and his world.” It is the same mission that our Lord entrusts to us in Matthew 28:19–20: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
