Laurentian University is a mirror of Canada itself. One of only two bilingual universities in the country, we have a significant Native Student population and a growing number of international students.

The University also announced plans for a Living with Lakes Centre, which will be the first institutional building in Canada to achieve the Platinum Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, the highest in the country.

Mission
As Northeastern Ontario’s leading comprehensive university, Laurentian provides access to high quality education, driving creativity, innovation and prosperity in our community and beyond. Drawing strength from our regional reality while increasingly open to the world, we attract talented teachers, researchers and future graduates who have a significant impact on the social, cultural and economic well-being of the communities we serve, and the knowledge economy in Canada and abroad.

Vision
A university of choice for students, staff and faculty, Laurentian University will be the most inspired, the most creative and the most determined university of its kind: our people will distinguish themselves regionally, nationally and internationally through their commitment to community, their passion for knowledge and innovation, and the excellence of their accomplishments.
