Macon State College, founded in 1968, has grown from a small junior college of 1,100 students to the largest undergraduate college in Central Georgia.
The college offers 31 majors in 18 bachelor’s degree programs — biology, business & information technology, communications & information technology, early childhood education, middle grades education, English, health information management, health services administration, history, information technology, interdisciplinary studies (B.A. and B.S.), mathematics, nursing, RN-to-BSN, psychology, public service and respiratory therapy. Associate degrees also are offered
Macon State’s main campus is located on more than 400 acres (1.6 km2) on College Station Drive, along Eisenhower Parkway (US 80), in western Bibb County, Georgia. The Warner Robins campus, with three administrative and academic buildings, is located on 79 acres (320,000 m2) Watson Boulevard, just a half-mile from the main gate of Robins Air Force Base. The Robins Resident Center is located in one of the many office buildings located on the Air Force base.
The history of Macon State College began in 1965, when the University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents passed a resolution to create a public two-year college in Middle Georgia. Subsequently, the voters of Bibb County approved a bond issue to fund the college
Library
Macon State’s campuses in Macon and Warner Robins are served by excellent library facilities. The Library on the Macon Campus underwent a complete renovation in 2005 and now is equipped with the latest technology available; research guides; special collections; large and small group study rooms; two computer-equipped classrooms for large groups; and a coffee shop. Our Warner Robins campus is served by the fully equipped Nola Brantley Memorial Library, located next to the campus.
