M.Phil in English, EFLU

The university offers M. Phil in any of the three areas:

  • Linguistics and Phonetics (L&P)
  • English Language Education (ELE)
  • English Literature (Lit)

Eligibility:
For M Phil in English Language Education
Essential
MA English (TESL)/MA TESL (with 55% or as per EFL University grading system norms)
OR
PGCTE (CIEFL/EFL University) with a minimum GPA of 3.00 without an E grade.
OR
PGDTE (CIEFL/EFL University) with a minimum GPA of 3.00 without an E grade in either of the semesters

Desirable
You should hav an experience of minimum 6 months as a English Teacher in an institution.

English Literature
PGCTE (CIEFL/EFL University) with a minimum GPA of 3.00
OR
PGDTE (CIEFL/EFL University) with a minimum GPA of 3.00
OR
MA in English with at least a high second class (55%)
OR
The MPhil programme is also open to candidates who show a strong interest in and commitment to the research areas pursued at the EFL University, and have an MA degree (with at least 55%) in a subject that falls under the broad area of Humanities and Social Sciences. However, such candidates will be tested separately for their proficiency in English and their MA programmes should have been taught through the medium of English.

Linguistics and Phonetics
MA in English (with specialization in Linguistics and Phonetics) with a minimum GPA of 3.50 or 55% marks.
OR
PGCTE/DTE (with evidence of having done one or more courses in Linguistics/Phonetics) with a minimum GPA of 3.00.
