Words are divided into different kinds or classes called Parts of Speech. according to their use; that is, according to the work they do in a sentence. The parts of speech are eight in number:
Easiest way to learn Part of Speech:
Every name is called a noun, field & fountain, street & town.
Instead of a noun, a pronoun stands, so he & she can clap their hands.
The Adjective describes a thing; magic wand or bridal ring.
The verb means action, something done, to sing & shout, jump & run.
How things are done the Adverb tells quickly, slowly, bad or well.
Preposition shows relation as in the street or at the station.
The conjunction joins in many ways: words or sentences, phrase or phrase.
