The self-instructional materials comprise a set of 33 booklets. There are seven courses altogether. Six of them are in the areas of Phonetics, Grammar, Linguistics, Literature, Methods of Teaching English, and Materials for the Teaching of English. Each of these courses has a set of five booklets (called Blocks) and each block has an assignment set on it. The seventh course is Practice Teaching, and it has three blocks (and consequently, three assignments).
You will get the materials by post, or you can collect them personally from the university. You have to do the assignments within the specified time and send them for evaluation. Altogether, there are 33 assignments, which are based on the 33 booklets. Your performance in the assignments counts for 25% of the total evaluation of the programme. The remaining 75% is based on your performance in the final examination held during the last week of the contact programme.
