Plateau State University (PLASU) fosters an environment that meets the educational and personal needs of students through excellent teaching, exposure to research, interaction with professors and instructors, academic advising, counseling and cultural, recreational and extracurricular programs. We value and support many approaches to teaching and learning, and strive to be a leader in using teaching tools, techniques, and technologies to facilitate, ameliorate, and refine the educational experience.
Plateau State University
On the 21st December 2001, His Excellency, Chief (Dr) Joshua Chibi Dariye, FCA, FABE, MBA, MLD, the Executive Governor of Plateau State made a policy statement on the pans to establish Plateau State University. This was followed by the appointment and subsequent inauguration of a Special Planning Committee for the proposed university on 25th June 2002, under the Chairmanship of Professor Ochapa C. Onazi, OON.

The University was officially commissioned for Academic activities with the first set of students matriculated on Saturday 26th May, 2007 at the permanent site in Bokkos.
