Prithvi-II missile developed by the DRDO blasted off from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur-on Sea in Orissa on October 12, 2009. Two surface-to-surface missiles were successfully test-fired. Prithvi-II has a range of 350 Km and can carry nuclear warheads.

The successful test-firing established the army’s capability to attack multiple targets simultaneously. Both missiles met the full mission objectives, according to the sources.
