Purdue University Calumet
Purdue University Calumet is a regional campus within the Purdue University system that is located in Hammond, Indiana in the Northwest Indiana portion of the Chicago metropolitan area.
Purdue University Calumet first opened for classes at its current site in 1951 after having started offering classes in Hammond in 1946. Purdue University Calumet awarded its first two-year degree in the spring of 1967.
Purdue University Calumet is located on 194 acres (0.79 km2) in Hammond, Indiana with an extension center in Merrillville, Indiana. Purdue University Calumet’s main Hammond campus is 25 miles southeast of the Chicago Loop.
Purdue University Calumet has over 100 academic programs which lead to associate, baccalaureate and master’s degrees plus professional certificates. Programs are enhanced by Purdue Calumet’s cultural diversity, expert faculty, considerable computer resources, and community partnerships. Together they provide a world-class education.
