Redeemer University College is situated in Ancaster, Ontario. It is an undergraduate Christian liberal arts and science university committed to academic excellence and to enabling students to discover their unique gifts and callings in life.
The campus of the University provides a beautiful environment in which to study and learn. For 25 years, we have been enjoying theatre events, concerts, art exhibitions, sporting events, and lecture series as well as conferring degrees and diplomas. At Redeemer, there is always something happening to challenge the mind and the senses, and to bring glory to God.
Redeemer University College was founded in 1982 as Redeemer College, before being granted the status of a University. The present located was built in 1986. Rev. Henry R. DeBolster was president until Dr. Justin Cooper took over the duties in 1994. Acts respecting Redeemer University College were assented to on June 22, 2000 and June 24, 2004.
Faculty
Redeemer has 50 full time + 40 part time faculty. Among Redeemer faculty are Albert M. Wolters in religion and classical languages, Harry Van Dyke and James Payton in history, David Koyzis in political science, and Elaine Botha emerita, in philosophy and literary theory, Raymond Louter in Theatre Arts, and novelist Hugh Cook in English.
Among the computer science faculty are Derek Schuurman and Kevin VanDerMeulen.
