The Rheinische Fachhochschule Köln (short RFH) is a nationally recognized professional school in private ownership . Rheinische Fachhochschule Köln offers 20 accredited bachelor’s degree programs and some master’s programs in the fields of engineering, business & legal affairs, medical economics and the media.
The Rheinische Fachhochschule Köln on 1 August 1971 and has its origin in that of Dr. Gottfried Päffgen founded in 1958 and 1966 state-approved Rheinische Engineering School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering Cologne. At the time of conversion of the higher vocational schools (technical) universities had the city of Cologne at that time can not offer their own teaching of Mechanical Engineering. But because they wanted full coverage for colleges provided specialist spectrum, the Rhenish school of engineering in the conversion was supported by the NRW according to the term of its Higher Education Act could be met. With currently about 4800 students enrolled at the Rheinische Fachhochschule Köln is now next to the University of Cologne and the Cologne University of the largest educational institutions in the city.
