Founded by the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, Rivier College in Nashua, New Hampshire, is a four-year Catholic institution offering professional preparation and a liberal arts education for both undergraduate and graduate students. For more than 75 years, the College has offered academic excellence in a learning environment that seeks to educate the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.

Rivier College is recognized for its more than 60 degree programs serving the needs of both traditional and non-traditional students. The College prides itself on small classes led by accomplished faculty who create an active, experience-based learning environment.

Rivier College is named in honor of Blessed Anne Marie Rivier, Foundress of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary. Established in 1933 in Hudson, New Hampshire, the College moved in 1941 to the present campus site in Nashua. The College was incorporated in 1935 under the laws of the State of New Hampshire, and through two separate charters was invested with the power to confer both graduate and undergraduate degrees.

Rivier is a fully accredited institution enrolling approximately 2,200 students in two schools: the School of Undergraduate Studies (which includes an Evening Division) and the School of Graduate Studies. For the purpose of institutional cooperation, Rivier College is a member of the New Hampshire College and University Council, a consortium of institutions of higher learning; students of member institutions are permitted to register for transfer credit at any of the member colleges except Dartmouth.

Mission
One of the College’s greatest strengths is its Roman Catholic heritage. For more than 70 years, Rivier’s founders, the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, have played a leading role in making the College a place where Judeo-Christian and Catholic values inform what we teach and what we talk about as a community.
