TThe Sibelius-Akatemia is responsible for the highest music education in Finland. The university trains capable of independent artistic work of artists, pedagogues and music experts. The Sibelius Academy is responsible for the development of Finland’s musical culture and cultural heritage preservation.
The Sibelius-Akatemia has two sections, which correspond to the university teaching. Students at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki is about 1400 Taken in each year approximately 150-170 students in the basic. Education has sought in recent years, more than one thousand students in the basic year.
Sibelius-Akatemia Master of Music degree can also be carried out in a licentiate or doctoral degree. The Sibelius Academy is the only Finnish and Nordic countries’ largest music college, and the establishment of the Helsinki Music Institute in 1882 as a private initiative. The library is at theSibelius-Akatemia teaching, research and artistic activities of ICT for learning. The library represents a prominent house music at the Sibelius Academy, an international high-quality music expertise. The library is of its time, and serves a wide range of music professionals.
