These systems are generally linked up with conventional steam boilers so as to take of non-sunshine hours. For cooling/Air-conditioning, the systems work with VAR machines.

How it is beneficial to the users: Steam cookings are clean, hygienic and efficient. These can cook food for hundreds to thousands of people at a time. It can also help us in saving a substantial amount of conventional fuel. A 100 sq.m. solar dish system can save up to 4500 litres of fuel oil per year, The cost of its installation pays back and can be recovered in 4 to 5 years.

World’s largest System: Over 50 systems of various capacity are working in our country, However, world’s largest solar steam cooking system has been installed at Shiridi in Maharashtra. It cooks food for 20,000 people per day.
