Against South Africa at Auckland in 1999. New Zealand left-arm Seamer Geoff Allott Set the record for the slowest duck in test History, lasting 77 balls and 101 minutes. The earlier record for the longest time to get off the mark was 97 minutes, set in 1947 by England Wicket keeper Godfrey Evans at Adelaide, who finished his innings on 10 not out. Evans later received a telegram from Winston Churchill that read: “Never did one man bat for so long for little.”

English footballers Gary and Phillip Neville were accomplished Cricketers in their formative years. While Manchester United Skipper Gary, representing green mount cricket club in the Bolton Leagues, once shared a century stand with Matthew Hayden, younger sibling and Everton Skipper Phil was a teammate of Andrew Flintoff in the Lancashire under-19, and captained England’s under-15 cricket team.
