Officials from Taylor University and Fort Wayne based, Ambassador Enterprises, LLC have announced the signing of an agreement for the proposed sale of the former Taylor University Fort Wayne (TUFW) campus at 1025 West Rudisill Blvd.
Taylor University is a private, interdenominational, evangelical Christian college located in Upland, Indiana. Founded in 1846, it is one of the oldest evangelical Christian colleges in America.
Taylor University has been ranked first in U.S. News and World Report’s guide to America’s Best Colleges among 95 Midwest Region Baccalaureate Colleges for 4 years in a row.
Located on a 952-acre (3.9 km2) campus, Taylor University has 1,897 undergraduate students, 144 graduate students, and 560 online students.
The proposed sale includes every campus building and all of the grounds that comprised the former TUFW campus, with the exception of the WBCL radio facility, including the house in which the Fort Wayne Alumni and Friends Resource Center is located. An arrangement with Ambassador will allow the Resource Center to continue to operate in its current location. The proposed sale does not impact Taylor’s MBA program or TU Online, which are housed in the Northeast Indiana Innovation Center, 3201 Stellhorn Road. Prior to becoming Taylor University Fort Wayne in 1992, the campus was Summit Christian College and Fort Wayne Bible College.
