Thomas Jefferson School of Law has evolved into an innovative, cutting-edge law school, devoted to the individual needs and success of the student. We are now a nationally-known law school with students from across the United States and around the world. We still serve the needs of working professionals with a part-time program of evening classes, in addition to our full-time program.
Thomas Jefferson School of Law was founded in 1969 as the San Diego campus of the Western State University College of Law, a privately owned institution in Orange County, California.Thomas Jefferson’s many distinguished alumni are San Diego County’s District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis, who serves on the California State Bar Associations Board of Governors, as well as Public Defender Henry Coker, many San Diego Superior Court judges, prominent San Diego attorneys, a former U.S. congressman and a former state legislator.
Mission
The mission of the law school is to provide an outstanding legal education for a nationally-based, diverse student body in a collegial and supportive environment with attention to newly emerging areas of law, particularly those related to technological development, globalization and the quest for social justice.
