The Catholic University of Angola ( UCAN ) is a university private Angolan , based in Luanda. Established by the Episcopal Conference of Angola and São Tomé (CEAST), the opening of the first academic year of UCAN was February 22, 1999, with the prerequisite course (year 0) of Law and Economics . Dom Damião Franklin , Archbishop of Luanda , is the rector of the university.
Since its inception, 156 students were graduates in Law, Economics and Management 176, 30 and 13 in Computer Science in Languages, Literature and Business Administration. The UCAN worked on two poles, and they Kinaxixi Pole Pole and Palanca, but currently only works in one, the pole Palanca. With ten years of existence, UCAN is considered the best private university in Angola, and in March 2009, he joined the ranks of the best universities in Africa by Webometrics.
