Universität Potsdam extends warm greetings to all international guest scholars visiting the institutes of higher learning and research institutions in Potsdam. As the central consultation and service point for international scholars in Potsdam, we strive to help you have a pleasant stay in Potsdam.

The Universität Potsdam was formed in 1991 by the amalgamation of the Karl Liebknecht College of Education and the Brandenburg State College. As the university in large part emerged from the College of Education, emphasis today is still placed on teacher training.

When you then reach Potsdam, we also help you get adjusted and answer all questions which you may have regarding your stay. We also assist you with your preparations to depart Potsdam at the end of your stay. Some parts of the university are located in historical buildings that have been named as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. Universität Potsdam library and the Institute of History can be found in a part of the commons in the park of Sanssouci, at the New Palace, as can the Institute of Mathematics in the former stables.
