Université de Corse Pascal Paoli is a French university, based in Corte, Haute-Corse. Université de Corse Pascal Paolit is under the Academy of Corsica.

The birth of Université de Corse Pascal Paoli (1725-1807) coincides with the beginning of the revolution Corsica in response to the Genoese occupation. In 1755 he was elected General of the Corsican nation, gives Corsica a constitution and its institutions. The Treaty of Versailles of 15 May 1768 between of France Genoa and seal the transfer of sovereignty over Corsica. Paoli immediately declare war on the kingdom of France.
This is the time of the emergence of a myth paolien, led by men of the Enlightenment, especially Jean Jacques Rousseau, Voltaire, James Boswell. After the defeat of the Corsican troops in 1769, Paoli went into exile in London where he was received as a hero.
