Université de Marne-La-Vallée

Université de Marne-La-Vallée founded in 1991 under the 2000 Plan University, the Université de Marne-La-Valléeis a Public cultural, scientific and professional. It takes a new name in 2007 and became Université Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée (UPEMLV), following t he creation of PRES Université Paris-Est she is a founding member. The Université de Marne-La-Vallée increased responsibilities and expanded jurisdiction on 1 January 2009.

It is mainly localized on the new town of Marne-la-Vallée, the Cité Descartes, in an area where local authorities are working to controlled urban development retaining the rich heritage and natural areas. Since its inception, the Université de Marne-La-Vallée is characterized by a culture of innovation by developing close partnerships both in the training of research with the business world, but by opting for an original type of governance. Université de Marne-La-Vallée  is a multidisciplinary, with 12 components, including an IUT and 16 research units.
