Université Panthéon-Assas Paris II is committed to maintaining the tradition which it is derived and adapted to new conditions of higher education and research. With a long history, the University Panthéon-Assas is the heir of the former Faculty of Law and Economics in Paris, part of the Sorbonne, located in the heart of the Latin Quarter since the thirteenth century. At that time, the University of Paris had four faculties: theology, medicine, arts and law. For nearly five centuries, legal education has focused exclusively on ecclesiastical law, until Colbert introduces the reign of Louis XIV, the teaching of civil law to give birth to the French law.
The Center for the Rue d’Assas is built in the early 1960s by J. The Maresquier. It gives its name to the University Panthéon-Assas, created after the events of May 1968 that led to the breakup of the University of Paris.
To offer its students a support closer to their needs, the University Panthéon-Assas offers them: courses adapted and organized within the LMD range of digital services, tutoring sessions, aid guidance and professional integration, library fund constantly enriched, many opportunities to practice a sport or cultural.
