Université Protestante au Congo

The Protestant University of Congo is an institution of higher education. It was created in 1959 on the initiative of the Protestant Church in Congo (Church of Christ in Congo) and has legal personality by Ordinance No. 190 of June 9, 1965 and Decree No. 06/0106 of 12 June 2006.Son story follows the curve of the socio-political evolution of our country.

Indeed, Faculty of Protestant Theology in the Belgian Congo and Rwanda-Urundi in 1959, the institution became Faculty of Protestant Theology at the Free University of Congo (ULC) in 1963 and one of the faculties of the former -National University of Zaire (UNAZA) in 1971. After his exclusion from the latter in 1974 as a result of the secularization of education by the government at the time, the Faculty of Protestant Theology in 1975 became, by decision of the third National Synod of the ECC, an associated body of Church with its own Board of Directors. In 1989, the opening of the Faculty of Humanities next to the Faculty of Theology becomes the name of the Faculty of Protestant Theology in the Protestant faculty.
