New York State Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences, UB Downtown Gateway, Educational Opportunity Center, Research Institute on Addictions, Ira G. Ross Eye Institute and Jacobs Executive Development Center. UB and Kaleida Health are constructing a new building on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus that will house UB’s Clinical and Translational Research Center and a UB Biosciences Incubator.
UB is first in the nation among comprehensive public research universities in terms of percentage of enrollment that is international. Nearly 11 percent of UB students study abroad—five times the national average. UB has exchange programs with 65 universities around the world.
UB is a research-intensive university, housing world-leading research centers in areas that range from bioinformatics to homeland security. UB spends over $323 million annually on research. Our research portfolio produces results that make people in earthquake zones safer, move mail around the world faster, extend knowledge of the human genome, and improve life in hundreds of other ways.
