University of Glasgow is the fourth oldest university in the English-speaking world.We are a member of the prestigious Russell Group of leading UK research universities, and we’re striving to change the world with our expertise. Our annual research contract income totals more than £116m, which puts us in the UK’s top 10 earners for research.

University of Glasgow
was founded in 1451 A.D by a papal bull of Pope Nicholas V, at the suggestion of King James II, giving Bishop William Turnbull permission to add the university to the city’s cathedral.

Library
The Library is one of the outstanding academic libraries in Europe and a major resource for staff and students. More than 2.5m books and journals and over 30,000 electronic journals, covering the full range of academic subjects, are available. Most branches of the arts, sciences and medicine, and are complemented by rare books, manuscripts and early photographs in our Special Collections Department.
