The University of Lusaka (UNILUS) is a modern private university registered with the Ministry of Education and established under the University Act of 1999 Parts III and IV. The Instititution started operating in 2007 under the name Institute of Corporate Training and Applied Research (ICTAR), offering Copperbelt University masters degree programmes. In 2008, ICTAR became known as University of Lusaka and introduced bachelor’s degree programmes also in conjunction with the Copperbelt University. In 2009, UNILUS introduced its own independent undergraduate degree programmes and has since grown to offer a wide range of courses at both masters and bachelor’s level. ICTAR is now a faculty in UNILUS responsible for corporate training and short courses.
