Located at the foot of the Ochil Hills, the University of Stirling was opened in 1967. The brand new campus was built on an 18th Century estate consisting of some 310 acres of stunning countryside. Lying two miles from the Royal Burgh of Stirling, the University’s location and history provide some clue as to what makes Stirling that bit different from other UK universities.

It is not only the location that draws students and their families to the university. We also offer a programme of study of unrivalled flexibility and choice, based around a semester system. It is possible to start on one degree programme and graduate in an entirely different subject, something about half of our students take advantage of.
