Univerzitet Džemal Bijedic Mostar (Bosnian: Univerzitet “Džemal Bijedić” u Mostaru) was established in 1977 and works as Bosnian state university. The university is in Mostar and consists of eight faculties.

General characteristics of the period since the formation of the university, 11 February 1977 year until 1992. years is its institutionalization, creating material conditions for the development, gathering scientific nastavoga staff, organizing education on modern principles. From April 1992 until 9 May 1993, the University Dzemal Bijedic experienced many irregular and violent changes implemented, practically losing its autonomy.
