Univerzitet u Zenici was established 18th October 2000. The decision of the Assembly of Zenica-Doboj Canton.

History of Higher Education in Zenica started 40 years ago when he founded Technical College metallurgical profession. During the 1959th and 1960. The intensive work on a college, a decision of the district People’s Committee of Zenica and confirmation of this decision by the Executive viijeća NRBiH 1961st The Technical College became the Faculty of Metallurgy in Zenica, the University of Sarajevo.
