Upper Nile University was established in1991. It is one of three universities in Southern Sudan (Juba,Bahr al Ghazal, and Upper Nile).It is located in northern zone of Malakal Town near Airport.

Vision
Upper Nile University regards commitment to developmental aspects of Upper Nile Region in particular and Sudan in general. It generates as it is stipulated in University Act, the training of Manpower theoretically and practically for the Development of local community. The University also aspires to become a centre of excellence in fields of agricultural and animal production sciences.

Mission
Promotion of national identity through teaching appropriate curricula. Equiping students with relevant skills so as to increase their capacity scope for national development.
