William Jessup University
William Jessup University is a small non-denominational Christian college located in Rocklin, California. It is the first evangelical Christian college between Fresno and Redding. The university had over 700 students as of Fall 2010.
Many good things have happened since the beginning of William Jessup University in 1939, but the best days of William Jessup University are taking place right now. God has raised up William Jessup University for the purpose of training Christians for leadership and service in church and society, through Christian higher education, spiritual formation, and directed experiences.
The University was founded as San Jose Bible College in 1939, in San Jose by William Jessup, the school’s first President. By 1951, with the school expanding and the San José State University across the street encroaching, San Jose Bible College moved to a parcel bordered by Coyote Creek, 12th Street and Highway 280.
Mission
In partnership with the Church, the purpose of William Jessup University is to prepare Christians for leadership and service in church and society, through Christian higher education, spiritual formation, and directed experiences.
Vision
The William Jessup University vision is that our graduates will be transformed and will help redeem world culture by providing notable servant leadership; by enriching family, church and community life; and by serving with distinction in their chosen career.
