Wilmington University

Wilmington University is a private, non-sectarian university that offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs in a wide range of instructional areas. The University began with a charter class of 194 students in 1968 and has grown to serve a student body of approximately 12,500 students of diverse backgrounds.

On September 10, 2007 Wilmington College officially became a university after being approved by the Board of Trustees and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The name change helps to better reflect the emphasis on baccalaureate and higher degree programs that distinguish Wilmington University from other community colleges as well as effectively communicate the full commitment and mission of the University.

Wilmington University generally serves commuter students and does not provide student housing facilities. However, the University welcomes all qualified students and assists those needing living accommodations by providing a listing of nearby rental opportunities.
